The Albanian First Division (Albanian: Kategoria e Parë) is the second level of association football in Albania[1][2].
The league was first created with the name Kategoria e Dytë (Second Division) and had also been named Kategoria A2. Since 2004-05 it was named First Division which holds currently. In the 2006–07 season, the First Division had 14 teams, but was expanded to 16 teams for the 2007–08 season. No teams were relegated and four teams were promoted from the Second Division.
