This name uses Spanish naming customs; the first or paternal family name is Suárez and the second or maternal family name is Velázquez.
Alejandro Suárez Velázquez (born 30 November 1980 in Santiago de Querétaro, Querétaro) is a Mexican long-distance runner who specializes in the 5000 metres. His personal best time is 13:18.13 minutes, achieved in June 2003 in Victoria. He clocked a sub 4-minute miler (3:59.81) in Burnaby BC, 2005.
He won the silver medal at the 2006 NACAC Cross Country Championships.[1]
