The Alexandria Wind Jammers were a team from the American Basketball Association that began and ended play in 2008.[1] Based in Alexandria, Virginia, it is made up of players from the Asian country of Mongolia.[citation needed] The team was previously known as Alexandria United, but they changed their name as a courtesy to D.C. United of Major League Soccer (the City of Alexandria is in the Washington metropolitan area).
