Ali Ergashevich Hamroyev (Russified: Ali Ergashevich Khamraev) (Uzbek: Ali Ergashyevich Hamroyev, Али Эргашевич Ҳамроев, Russian: Али Эргашевич Хамраев) (born 19 May 1937, in Tashkent) is an Uzbek director who is best known in the former Soviet Union for his work in the 1970s.[1] Hamroyev has made over 30 documentary over 20 feature films.[2]
Hamroyev studied at State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). His most famous films include The Bodyguard and The Seventh Bullet. He has won a number of accolades at home, including being a laureate, and "Honoured Art Worker" of the Uzbek republic. Hamroyev is still working today, and his most recent film Bo Ba Bu toured many European festivals.
