Allen & Company
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Allen & Company is a boutique investment bank based in New York, NY. Founded in 1922 by brothers Herbert, Charles and Harold Allen, the firm has quietly become the premier investment house in the media and entertainment sector despite having only a small number of employees. In 2003 CNN reported they employed 175 people.[1] Allen & Company generally shies away from publicity and does not maintain a website or issue press releases.
Excite quotes a "media mogul": "Deals just don't get done in Hollywood unless Allen & Co. has a hand in it."[2]
The Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference regularly draws such heavyweights as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Rupert Murdoch, Barry Diller, Michael Eisner, Oprah Winfrey, Robert Johnson, Andy Grove, Richard Parsons and many others.
