The Escadrille, which consists of the Band, the Color Guard, and the Tallenettes (drill team), is the biggest marching band in the world with over 800 members in 2013. The Allen Eagle Escadrille marched overseas in 1994, did a halftime show at the Cowboys v Rams game at the AT&T stadium in 2013, and has participated in large parades including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day and the Tournament of Roses Parade. The Allen Eagle Escadrille has always had grades 9th through 12th march during their marching season, though during the 2011 and the 2012 marching seasons only 10th through 12th grades took the field for the UIL show. In the 2013 season, the band reverted to having all four grade levels march all of the shows.
Awards and honors
The Allen Eagle Escadrille has received many honors, including the Sudler Shield Award in 2004, attendance at the 1994 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland, and played at the 1997 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. On January 2, 2006, the escadrille marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.
The Allen Eagle Escadrille has also received "Sweepstakes" Division I ratings at the Marching Band University Interscholastic League Competition for over the past 20 years. Recently, the Escadrille made the finals at the Wylie Marching Invitational in Wylie, Texas and the Plano East Marching Invitational in Plano, Texas.

The Allen Eagle Escadrille has numerous directors for the purpose of leading band members. However, all of the band directors are different. Before Blane Hinton was appointed head band director of the escadrille, Charles Pennington served as the visual, brass, and woodwind caption head during the marching season. At the start of the 2013 marching season, musical and visual duties were divided between Blane Hinton and Rick Villareal respectively. Towards the end of the 2013 marching season, Blane Hinton assumed responsibilities of visual marching, as well as maintaining his position as the head music director.
