Amagi, Fukuoka

Amagi (甘木市 Amagi-shi) was a city in Japan located in Fukuoka Prefecture that merged along with the city of Haki into their mutual neighbor Asakura on March 20, 2006.
In 2003, the city had an estimated population of 42,449 with a population density of 253.90 persons per km2. Amagi contained 167.19 km2 of land area.
The city existed from April 1, 1954, and on March 20, 2006 Amagi was merged the towns of Asakura and Haki, both from Asakura District, to form the new city of Asakura.
