The American Consumer Institute Center for Citizen Research (ACI) is a 501(c)(3) (tax-exempt and fully tax deductible) nonprofit educational and research institute based in Reston, Virginia. The Institute claims to be an independent organization founded on a belief that consumer representations too often reflect either the interests of a small subsets of groups or mirror advocates’ political views based on subjective conclusions, rather than empirically-based analyses.
ACI released a study supportive of cable franchise reform.[1] The ACI also released a study opposing network neutrality.[2]
Their work has been mentioned in the press, including the following:
- Fox TV[citation needed]
- NBC TV[citation needed]
- Roll Call[3]
- United States Department of Justice filing to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) cites ACI study[4]
