"American Ghost Dance" is a song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. It is the third track from their 1985 album, Freaky Styley.
On the remastered Freaky Styley CD, the song does not fade out as it does on the original vinyl. Instead, the main riff is played once more in a different key before the song comes to an abrupt end. This version is slightly longer than the original.
On the band's 2006 album Stadium Arcadium, the song "Hump de Bump" was originally titled "Ghost Dance 2000" because of the song's similar bass line.
