Amilcar Alves is a Brazilian mixed martial artist. He has fought as a welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

[edit] Mixed martial arts career
Known primarily for his extensive background in judo, Alves has also trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the tutelage of Andre Pederneiras.[1] Since turning professional in 2006, Alves has competed for smaller organizations in his native country of Brazil and is a teammate and training partner of former WEC and current UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo at Nova União.
[edit] Ultimate Fighting Championship
Alves made his North American, as well as UFC debut against Mike Pierce on August 28, 2010 at UFC 118.[2] He lost the fight via submission in the third round.
Alves faced Charlie Brenneman on January 22, 2011 at UFC Fight Night 23.[3] He lost the fight via unanimous decision. He has been released by the UFC after going 0-2 in the promotion. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/fanshots
