[edit] Early life and career
Andrew Hollander was born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey. In his teenage years Hollander performed in and wrote songs for a series of rock and roll bands. By 15 he was musical directing concerts which gave him the opportunity to perform with Motown stars The Marvelettes, The Shirelles, and Mary Wilson of The Supremes.
Hollander received his B.A. in Music from the University of Massachusetts where he worked alongside iconic jazz musician Yusef Lateef and played piano on three of Lateef's records. After college, Hollander moved to New York City to focus on his music career. He joined the rock band Mr. Henry, which gave him the opportunity to tour with and open for Counting Crows, Live, and Squirrel Nut Zippers. After Mr. Henry fulfilled a deal with EMI Music for two records, Hollander co-founded Sugarbox Studios, a full-service music production and recording studio in New York City.
In addition to scoring numerous films, Andrew Hollander has scored television commercials for American Express, Coca Cola, and Dasani.[4] Hollander has also worked with many recording artists including Fall Out Boy, Dana Parish, Your Vegas (Universal/Republic), Yep Rock's Rock Plaza Central, Say Hey Record's White Rabbits, C.
