[edit] Life and Work
Tomlinson was educated at the Open University where he gained an honours degree in psychology, and was trained in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. [1] His private practice in Christchurch, Dorset includes psychotherapy and helping people get in touch with their spiritual selves. In 1996 he started developing techniques from other pioneers including Roger Woolger and Michael Newton and has and been referred to the leading European regression expert [2] He is also been called a pioneer in uncovering the afterlife (or the spiritual world) [3] by using a scientific approach to discover and explain soul experiences. [4]
He has pioneered international standards in regression therapy and was a founder member of the European Academy of Regression Therapy, founder of Norsk forbund for Regressjonsterapi for the professional acceptance of Regression Therapy in Scandinavia, and a founding member of the Spiritual Regression Therapy Association.[5]
Tomlinson has helped establish standards in regression therapy training [6] He has taken regression training internationally in an organisation he founded called the Past Life Regression Academy working in; UK, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, USA.[5]
Tomlinson lectures [7] and writes widely, including articles in the European Journal of Clinical Hypnosis,[8] and in the Scientific and Medical Network,[9] Kindred Spirit[10] and gave presentations at the World Congress for Regression Therapy at Holland (2003) and Istanbul (2006).
[edit] Books
Andy Tomlinson’s first book Healing the Eternal Soul, also translated into Italian has been referred to as being an invaluable contribution and advancement in the field of regression therapy,[11] and recommended reading for therapists by other pioneers in regression therapy.[12] It has been referred to as the leading book in its field [13] and been acknowledged by the scientific community.[14]
Tomlinson’s second book Exploring the Eternal Soul used scientific research in transpersonal psychology states of consciousness. For the first time all the pioneers in between past lives have been systematically evaluated together with his own case studies.[15] Tomlinson provided evidence of the consistency of the transpersonal experiences between past lives based on thousands of subjects. He was the first to explain the way unresolved problems from past lives affect peoples current life in what he referred to as ‘layering’ and ‘de-layering’.[16]
In his third book Transforming the Eternal Soul Tomlinson is the editor with contributions by regression therapists including psychologists and medical professionals. It includes many new healing techniques.[17] It explains how regression therapy including past lives is being used by a surgeon practicing in a public hospital in Singapore to resolve medical problems not responding to traditional approaches.
