Andy Willsheer is a British photographer, mainly known for his work with automobiles and auto racing. His work can be found in The Encyclopedia of the Car, Ford Mustang, and Mustang: Selling the Legend.[1]
Willsheer achieved worldwide acclaim while photographing an NHRA Funny Car drag race featuring Steve Gasparelli at Pomona raceway on December 14, 2009. Gasparelli's racecar slipped on an oil patch and veered towards a concrete barrier next to the track. Willsheer was standing on the other side of the barrier and the car came within two feet of him. Despite the threat to his own safety, Willsheer continued to shoot during the entire incident.[2]
