Animation magazine is a monthly publication covering the animation industry, including reviews about film and television animation, visual effects and video games.
Founded in 1986 by Terry Thoren, the print magazine is published every month in the United States, and features articles on current animated movies and short animated films, animated television series, visual effects from big productions, interactive design of titles and software releases from different studios inside and out of USA and independent producers. Editorial covers all forms of animation; 2D animation, 3D for animation and visual effects, or stop-motion, and the profiles of the artists behind the productions. The digital version of the print editions was created in 2006 in its website.
Daily animation news is updated every weekday on the publication's website. The site is also home to World Animation Celebration Online (WAC-O), an online film festival featuring animated shorts from around the world. Films are free to view and visitors can vote for their favorites to decide quarterly award winners. Also featured on the site is AniMagTV, a portal dedicated to brief reports on animation events, shorts and trailers.
