Ankleshwar, (sometimes written Ankleshvar; Gujarati: અંકલેશ્વર) is a city and a municipality in the Bharuch district of the state of Gujarat, India. The city is located ten kilometres from Bharuch.

[edit] Economy of Ankleshwar
The town is known for its industrial township called GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation). Ankleshwar has an office of the ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited). Ankleshwar has over 5000 chemical plants, producing products such as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and paints.

As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Ankleshwar had a population of 67,952. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Among the Hindus, ghanchis (oil traders) are an important caste, residing in the town for centuries . The city has a sizeable Muslim population. The Casbathi-wadi region of the town once used to be the hub of Jain merchants, but in later periods there was a gradual migration of Jain population to Bombay and hence Casbathi-wadi apparently turned into a Muslim ghetto. But the old Jain temples still stand beside the relatively newer mosques.

Ankleshwar is connected by Indian National Highway 8 (Mumbai to New Delhi) and by the Western Railway Division of Indian Railways. The railway division runs the broad gauge train services to Rajpipla. The 132 year-old Golden Bridge connects Ankleshwar to Bharuch across the Narmada on the station front while a new bridge connects the highway, the other bridge on the highway is now ready to use.
Develpoment project of Domestic Airport & City Bus are in pine line in last stage.

Ankleshwar is an educated city. It has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 56% of the males and 44% of females literate.
Among the schools, there are Shree Gattu Vidyalaya (Gujarati and English medium),shreemati puspawati devidas shroff sanskardeep vidyalaya (Gujaraati medium), Shravan Vidyabhavan School, Unity English Medium School, Swami Vivekananda School (English and Gujarati Medium), the E.N. Ginwala High School, the Zenith High School, the Aaddarsh School, the Lions School(English and Gujarati Medium), the Gurukul, UBMM National High School, the Saraswati Vidya Mandir, the Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Little Flower School, Vision School, Sanatan Vidhyalay.

- The Kadakia Commerce and Arts College.
- Shri M.H. Kadakia Institute of Management and Computer Studies. (for MBA, BCA,BBA and MCA)

- The Shreemati Puspawati Devidas Shroff Sanskardeep Vidyalaya (Gujaraati medium) offers education from kindergarten to Secondary in Gujarati (Science Stream)
- The Swami Vivekananda School (English and Gujarati medium) offers education from kindergarten to Higher Secondary (Science) in English and Gujarati.
- The Shree Gattu Vidyalaya is one of the oldest schools of Ankleshwar, providing education from kindergarten to higher secondary. It produces toppers every year in the state board exams. It offers both English and Gujarati mediums in Science Stream. Gattu is named after a son of the director of Asian Paints Limited.
- The C.M. Academy (Chandra Bala Modi Academy), is a CBSE school inside the campus of the multinational company Gujarat Guardian Ltd. (a joint venture between Guardian Glass of the US and the Modi Group).
- The Lions School, for education in Gujarati and English medium, offers education from kindergarten to Higher Secondary (Commerce)

Nav Graha Jain Mandir(G.I.D.C), Manav Mandir, Sai & Swaminarayan temple are big temples in Ankleshwar. Ankleshwar City Also Having Big Mosques Halimsha Datar Bhandari, Garib nawaz, etc.
Centers of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University are located in both GIDC and City area which helps you to Know your true self with the help of Free Rajyoga Meditation Classes.
There are parks such as The Millennium Park and old parks in Ankleshwar city, the GIDC Water Reservoir, and sports center.
There are swimming pools, joggers park, childrens park, Rotary library and other recreation centres in the GIDC area.
There is an Open Air Theater in GIDC Area.
Chauta Bazar and Sardar Park area (in GIDC) are the central shopping zones.
Prominent hotels in Ankleshwar include the Sadanand Hotel, Lords Plaza, The Shalimaar,Hotel Sun Plaza, 3-4 star hotels and budget hotels like , Royal Palace, and Sha's Inn.
There are 2 single screen cinemas and a MultiPlex is under construction in GIDC area. There is a lake in GIDC & City area.

Most of the clinics and hospitals are owned and operated by individual doctors and medical professionals. Pharmacies are also operated and run by individual people.
Hospitals include the Jayaben Modi Hospital[2] is the biggest in Ankleshwar. The Sarvajanik, Sanjivani Hospital & Sardar Patel Hospitals are also large.
There is US PIZZA outlet near lake.
