Joaquín Parra
Antonio Joaquín Parra Fernández (born 17 June 1961) is a retired Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder, and a coach.
[edit] Football career
Born in Seville, Andalusia, Parra made his professional debuts aged 19, for hometown club Real Betis, and played there until 1986–87, including 44 matches - all as a starter - precisely in that season, which had a second stage. He left the Andalusians with 221 matches in La Liga, scoring 24 times.
Subsequently, he transferred to Atlético Madrid where, after a first solid solid season, 33 matches and five goals, for a club third-place, he appeared sparingly, which also occurred in the following two seasons, now with Real Madrid (only 15 matches combined).
After an unsuccessful trial in Hungary, with Budapest Honvéd FC, Parra signed with lowly Écija Balompié in 1992, after which he hung up his boots. In the 2000's, he took up coaching, with Betis' C and B teams,[1] subsequently acting as a scout for the club.
In late 2006, Parra was named Andalusia's head coach,[2] being replaced in the post by another former Real Madrid player, Adolfo Aldana.
