Apptix is an Application Service Provider (ASP) technology company providing hosted business services (or Software as a service) for small and medium-sized businesses.
The company offers hosted Microsoft Exchange email, enterprise-class VoIP phone service, Microsoft SharePoint collaboration services, mobile email messaging, and compliance and archiving; both directly and through its MailStreet subsidiary. Its mobile email messaging service supports the iPhone, BlackBerry, Treo Smartphone, and Windows Mobile devices.

Apptix was founded in 1997 after being spun off from TeleComputing ASA, of Oslo Norway[1]. The company is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, USA, with additional locations in Florida, Illinois, and Texas. Apptix is publicly traded on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: APP).
Apptix has grown into one of the largest ASPs for the small and medium-sized business market (SMB) through the acquisitions of other hosted Exchange vendors ASP-One, Mi8, and MailStreet[citation needed].
In 2007, Apptix generated $35,973,000 in revenue – a 321% growth rate over two years[2]. Over five years, from 2002 to 2007, the company grew by 1,052%[3].

Apptix is a Microsoft Gold Certified partner for hosted Microsoft’s Exchange and SharePoint services. For its mobile email services, the company partners with RIM (Research In Motion) to offer BlackBerry service and Good Technology [4]. For its email archiving services, the company partners with Global Relay to offer long-term email storage, email compliance and eDiscovery services [4].
Four of Apptix’s largest channel partners are IBM, Bell Canada, Fujitsu, and Savvis [5].

In 2008, the company received a variety of business and industry awards, including being name: the 6th Fastest Growing Company in the Washington, DC area by the Washington Business Journal[citation needed]; 17th in Deloitte’s Virginia Technology Fast 50 ranking of the fastest-growing technology companies[3]; 9th in CRN’s (Computer Reseller News) nation-wide Fast Growth 100[2]; and #3 in their category (companies with revenues in the $30–$50 million range) and #292 overall in Software Magazine’s Software 500[6].
