Arion Salazar (born Arion Gabriel Salazar, 9 August 1970, Oakland, California) is an American songwriter, producer and is the the founding bassist for Third Eye Blind.[1] After Kevin Cadogan's departure, Salazar was considered to be the most connected with the fans through the internet out of all the remaining band members. He was previously in the Fremont, California band, Fungo Mungo. Salazar also played in a sessions band called Bullmark. While in Bullmark he composed the soundtrack for Activision's video game, Interstate '76. Vintage recording equipment and instruments were used to capture the original 1970s sound. Members of Bullmark included Bryan Mantia (Primus), Tom Coster (Santana), Jon Bendich, Les Harris and Dave Schul (Curveball).
On Dec 19, 2011, Arion Salazar and Kevin Cadogan reunited to perform a retrospective of their Third Eye Blind work for the television program "Backline". This performance marked the first time they had performed together since January 2000 at the height of Third Eye Blind's success. They have since announced on fan forums and Facebook, the formation of their new band "XEB". The band, XEB , offers the following bio: "XEB are Kevin Cadogan and Arion Salazar. They were born 5 days apart at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, Ca. Cadogan and Salazar make up half of the original members of Elektra records recording artist "Third Eye Blind". Together they composed the majority of the music on 3EB's most successful albums including their 6x platinum self-titled debut album and 2x platinum sophomore album "Blue". Cadogan co-wrote the hits "How's it Going To Be", "Graduate", and "Losing A Whole Year". Cadogan is a signatory to the Elektra records recording contract which founded and launched 3EB to worldwide success. The singles, "Never Let You Go" and "Ten Days Late" are among the many songs that Salazar co-wrote for 3eb."
