The 2 arrondissements of the Alpes-Maritimes department are:
- Arrondissement of Grasse, (subprefecture: Grasse) with 19 cantons and 62 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 470,488 in 1990, and was 504,632 in 1999, an increase of 7.26%.
- Arrondissement of Nice, (prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes department: Nice) with 33 cantons and 101 communes. The population of the arrondissement was 501,341 in 1990, and was 506,694 in 1999, an increase of 1.07%.
