[edit] Plot

The plot is very similar to the book, but there is less description because there are pictures. The Graphic Novel does not contain many speech bubbles but shows each character's story in first-person. It begins when Artemis is searching on the computer for the People, and then follows up into Ho Chi Minh City in the summer. He meets a waiter (their contact) Nguyen who guides them to the area of a drunken sprite. Artemis makes a deal with the sprite and gets the Fairy Bible, and so leading him to discover knowledge of the People. After a successful mission with a troll, Captain Holly Short is now ordered by Commander Root to complete her ritual, to regain her magic. Holly then is kidnapped by Artemis Fowl and taken to the Fowl Manor where she is held captive for ransom.
