Arumeru District is one of the six districts in the Arusha Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the north, west, and southwest by Monduli District, to the southeast by Arusha District, and to the east by the Kilimanjaro Region.
For parliamentary elections, Arusha Region is divided into constituencies. As of the 2010 elections Arumeru District had two constituencies, Arumeru West (Arumeru Magharibi) Constituency and Arumeru East (Arumeru Mashariki) Constituency.
In 2012, the economy of Arumeru District was threatened when, local landless residents forcibly occupied some of the large horticultural farms that bring in most of the money in the district.
