AsiaWorld-Expo is a station on the Airport Express of Hong Kong's MTR. It serves the AsiaWorld-Expo on the northeast corner of Chek Lap Kok, the island on which the Hong Kong International Airport is located.
AsiaWorld-Expo is an exhibition centre designed to host large scale trade fairs, exhibitions, conventions and concerts. It is located adjacent to Hong Kong International Airport. To better serve the travelling needs of exhibitors and visitors, the Airport Express Line has been extended with a new station at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The station opened on 20 December 2005, in time for the opening of the new exhibition centre on the same date. The extension provides convenient rail access to the exhibition centre from the central business district and other stations on the MTR network. Its platform screen doors, which are still fitted, are different from the other stations of the Airport Express (shown below), as the screen doors are designed for the train of Tung Chung Line as well, which those train may also be used to run services from and to the station, in order to increase passenger flow during the time that large exhibition or concerts are holding.
