Asia 2001, a goa trance music project from France, consists of Martin Cooper (musician) and Florian Seriot. The group emphasizes melody and aims to produce strong, atmospheric music.
Asia 2001 originated in the south of France, where they produce most of their music at their private studio 'The Stargate'. Principal member Martin Cooper, also known as Loren-X, has in the past released albums on R&S, Polygram, F-Com and Distance.
Martin Cooper established Trans Pact Productions in 1992 with his wife Thaisha. Trans Pact has released numerous singles and albums, including Spectral’s 'Trance O 10 C', which was followed by the release “Goa Exit”, Transwave’s first single.
Cooper collaborated with DJ Anti in 1995 and produced the first Toires album in 1996. The breakthrough for the group came with the release of “Lunar Attraction” on 12 inch single with the label Koyote, combined with their debut album Râ.
In 1997, Asia 2001 was signed to Avatar Records and released the albums Ama Zone and Dreamland.
Asia 2001 are now a prominent act on the electronic scene. They have performed live all over Europe, including at the Berlin Love Parade, and in the Middle East and Canada. They have played in New York clubs such as the Limelight and the Tunnel. Finally, they have appeared with artists including Carl Cox, Robert Leiner, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Miles and Total Eclipse.
