Asian Monetary Unit is a basket of currencies proposed by Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI). It is similar to the European Currency Unit (ECU).

The ASEAN10+3 currencies are the component currencies of the AMU. The ASEAN10+3 is composed of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and China.
