PAE Asteras Tripolis (Greek: ΠΑΕ Αστέρας Τρίπολης) is a Greek football club from the town of Tripoli, Greece.
Asteras was founded in 1931, in the area near the railway station and formally recognized from the courts with the 312/1931 act. After some time, for unknown reasons, Asteras was inactive and during 1932 all the football clubs of the town temporary dissolved.

During that period Minas Tsavdaris was in Tripoli, and founded a football team named “Keramikos” with black & white colors, influenced by the name of the area he was leaving. The team of “Keramikos” was never formally recognized and during 1938 Minas Tsavdaris used the constitution of Asteras and integrated the players of “Keramikos”. This way Asteras reassembled. During 1939 EPOT was founded, Asteras plays for the championship of the period 1939–1940, with open teams like Aris Tripolis, AEK Tripolis, Olympiada Tripolis. WWII stopped all sporting activities in Tripoli, and like all teams of the town Asteras dissolved.
After World War II , Asteras refounded under the name Neos Asteras and recognized under the act No.508 of the court of Tripoli on the 23rd of June 1947. During the 1950s, Asteras took part in the championship of Enosi Podosfairikon Somation Arcadias (Union of Football Teams of Arcadia), winning the title of Champion five consecutive times (1957–1962). Asteras played for two years in B’ Ethniki (1961–1963). It is the first team of Tripolis that played in this high a league and one of the charter members of B’ Ethniki. In the summer of 1963, Asteras integrated with Ari – Atromito, that had been integrated as well a year earlier. Ther new team eas called Athlitikos Omilos Tripolis. AOT.
AOT was based in the constitution of Asteras, that changed to Omilos. At the same time another team created under the name “SEFA Aris – Atromitos” afterwards renamed “SEFA Arcadicos”. Omilos continued until 1968, and was dissolved with the act No.345 of the Tripoli court, after it was integrated with Arcadikos to form Panarcadikos.
The new history of Asteras as we know it until today, started in 1978 and was formally recognized under the act of No.368 of Tripolis court, since then it has taken part with success in the regional championship of Arcadia. It has five participations for D Ethniki, one in G’ Ethniki, B’ Ethniki, 3 in Superleague.
The club is the best in Arcadia, especially in terms of their financial support and youth setup.
On May 12, 2007 the club clinched a promotion spot to the Super League Greece for the 2007–08 season.
Having been unbeaten at home since 2001 until November 2006 as they moved up four divisions(in Greek cup vs. 1st division Xanthi 1–0 and in regular season 2–1 to Kastoria), Asteras then made a spectacular start to their first season in the Super League. Their first ever win in Super League was against Panathinaikos FC, 1–0. This was followed by their first away win in Super League against OFI Crete, 3–0. However perhaps their most memorable game this season was a 1–0 home victory over Olympiakos and 2–1 victory over AEK Athens. Asteras is the only newcomer team in the Superleague to beat Panathinaikos FC, Olympiakos, PAOK (home and away) and AEK Athens all in its début season
Paulo Campos left Asteras on 24 February 2008 and the team now continued with, up until then assistant manager of the team, Panagiotis Tzanavaras. After the completion of the 2007–2008 superleague season, Panagiotis Tzanavaras went back to his old post as assistant manager and the team hired Carlos Carvalhal as the new team manager. Carlos Carvalhal was a noted manager of the Portuguese championship, having trained teams like Vitória de Setúbal and Leixões Sport Club. Nevertheless, he was sacked in mid-season due to poor results which led the team near the relegation zone. He was succeeded by former AEK F.C. caretaker, Nikos Kostenoglou. In 2009 Asteras signed Roberto Carlos Mario Gómez as their new coach. An argentinian coach that has worked as an assistant manager in Valencia, Mallorca and Inter.Asteras Tripolis managed to be loved by the countries but few teams after playing very good football managed to steal hearts!In 2008 came very close to the exit in Europe, but the last racing lost to AEK Athens F.C. score was 2–0 and remained in seventh position.The good presence resulted sold almost all the stars of the group. Lucio Filomeno example, that he was transferred to PAOK F.C.. Ιn the summer of 2010, just before the end to transfer the Asteras Tripolis team brought to the Spanish footballer from Zaragoza, Rubén Pulido causing great surprise to fans!

Asteras Tripolis Stadium is a privately owned stadium in Tripoli, Greece. It is used for football matches and is the home stadium of Asteras Tripolis. The stadium is commonly referred to as Wembley after the famous British stadium. It holds 7,500.
