[edit] History
Atria Senior Living formed as a result of several mergers through the late 1990s and early 2000s. The companies involved in the mergers that ultimately became Atria Senior Living in 2003 were: ARV Assisted Living Inc., Kapson Senior Quarters and Atria Communities.[3] In August 2007, Atria began managing 11 facilities formerly operated by Sterling Glen, most of which are located in the New York City metro area.[4]
[edit] Services
Atria Senior Living facilities offer independent living, assisted living, and dementia care, though not all facilities offer all services.[1] Atria markets itself to an active adult population, but also provides care at higher levels, including care for residents with advanced stages of dementia. Consumers purchase a basic service package that includes room rental, housekeeping, a meal plan, activities, and other amenities. Atria provides assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, medication management and escort services to meals and activities.
[edit] Geography
Atria Senior Living is geographically concentrated in California and the Northeast, with 30 facilities in California, 15 in New York, 10 in Massachusetts, and 5 in Connecticut. Other states with significant presence include Texas (10 facilities), Kentucky (6), and Florida (5).[5][6]
