The Audi Senna Ltda. is a joint venture of the German Audi AG with the Brazillian company Senna Import Participações Ltda.. The plant is also known as Audi do Brasil and is an official part of Volkswagen do Brasil Ltda. since March 2005. The joint venture was founded on 18 November 1993 in Ingolstadt. Ayrton Senna was one of the negotiators. Since March 2005 the company is a subsidiary of the Audi concern. The production began in January 1999.
