Australian Macworld
Australian Macworld is the Australian version of the US Macworld magazine, carrying a combination of licensed content from the US publication and a broad range of features, reviews, tutorials, and opinion columns written by local authors. The magazine is published by Niche Media of Melbourne, Victoria and its current editor is Dave Bullard.
Australian Macworld is the longest-running Apple magazine outside the USA, currently into its third decade of reviewing Macintosh products under Australian conditions, as well as reporting on events in the Australian Mac and iPhone markets.
The companion Australian Macworld web site features daily updates of both worldwide and local events as well as unique opinion columns, tutorials, reviews, and more. AMW also produces a fortnightly podcast that unites Bullard with AMW online editor Xavier Verhoeven, technology journalists Anthony Caruana, Adam Turner and David Braue, and other regular contributors. The podcast is offered through the AMW Web site and through Apple's iTunes.
As of the October 2009 issue, Australian Macworld underwent an extensive redesign based on reader surveys conducted earlier in the year. The new issue adds more content, a more engaging visual design, new columns, and the elimination of the Mac keyboard-shortcut section headings introduced during the magazine's previous redesign. The magazine is also now available as an iOS application for the iPad and iPhone as well as through Xinio, an iOS publishing platform.
