Awqa Punta (Quechua awqa enemy, opponent, rival / hostile, Ancash Quechua punta first, before, in front of,[2][3] Spanish punta tip, point, hispanicized spelling Auga Punta) is an archaeological site in Peru located in the Huánuco Region, Huamalíes Province, Jircan District. It is situated at a height of about 3,700 m (12,100 ft) on the mountain Hirkan (Jircán), near the village of Urpish.[1]
