B'nai Abraham Synagogue in Virginia, Minnesota, was dedicated in 1909 and remained in use as a synagogue until the mid-1990s when it was closed. It was acquired in 2004 by a not-for-profit organization, The Friends of B'nai Abraham, that has raised funds for the building's restoration. The building, scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2008, will be jointly managed by the Friends organization and the Virginia Area Historical Society. It will be used as a cultural center and museum and will include a permanent exhibit documenting the history of Jewish settlement on the Iron Range.
