Binh Chanh District

Bình Chánh is one of the suburban districts of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

In 2003, An Lac township, Binh Hung Hoa ward, Binh Tri Dong ward, Tan Tao ward were divided to establish 10 wards for Binh Tan district. Now, Bình Chánh district has 16 wards: Tân Kiên, Tân Nhựt, An Phú Tây, Tân Qúy Tây, Hưng Long, Qui Đức, Bình Chánh, Lê Minh Xuân, Phạm Văn Hai, Bình Hưng, Bình Lợi, Đa Phước, Phong Phú, Vĩnh Lộc A, Vình Lộc B and Hưng Long. Bình Chánh district includes Tân Túc township which is famous for its speciality cháo lòng chợ Đệm.

As of 2006, the district had a population of 246,938.[1] The district covers an area of 253 km². The district capital lies at Tan Tuc.[1]
