B-Sides: 1996–2006 is a two-disc B-sides compilation album by alternative rock band Placebo. It is representative of their ten-year contract with Virgin Records and is a collection of selected B-Sides that appeared on the far more comprehensive EMI box set The Hut Recordings - the latter first released in 2009, before the former was issued separately two years later in 2011. One reviewer described the compilation as a means for the more "casual" fan to discover the band's obscure material.[1] The Virgin compilation includes "Dark Globe", a Syd Barrett cover, an avant-garde jazz track called "Aardvark" in which lead singer Brian Molko plays the saxophone, as well as a range of musical experiments that deviate from the popular Placebo formula.

The two-CD collection was made available through the Elevator Music Ltd. imprint, described by one website as a "vanity/pseudo-indie label for Placebo's releases", with the "Parent Label" being Hut Recordings.[2]
