Bakersfield Outlaws

The Bakersfield Outlaws were a minor league baseball team that played in the California League from 1978 to 1979. They played their home games at Sam Lynn Ballpark in Bakersfield, California. They were not affiliated with any big league teams.
In their first year of existence, they went 48-92 under manager George Culver. The 36,503 fans they drew was sixth best in the eight team league, and they were outscored 1,098 to 770. Under new manager Ron Mihal in 1979, they went 63-77, putting them ninth in the standings. They drew 44,546 which was seventh in the now 10 team league. Onix Concepcion was their only all-star that year.[1]
