Balan-Bale

Balanbale or Balanbal (various spelling) is a district of the central region of Galguduud, in Somalia. Balanable is the third largest city in Galgudud. Two largest towns being Abudwak and Dhusa Mareb central Somalia.

Balanbale is situated on the western side of Galgadud Region on the Somalia-Ogaden Border.

Recent History

Since the start of the civil war in Somalia, Balanbale's population has roughly doubled. Most households make their living from livestock raised near by countryside. Public services have become nonexistent but schooling was something people worked hard to maintain without any sort of help from any governmental entity.

Diaspora from Balanbale and Abud Wak have recently established a well-organized Hospital. Named, Balanbale Mothers And Children's Hospital. Friends of Balanbale MCH made concerted effort to bring quality health facility in Balanbale. Organizers wanted the residents of Balanbale to have trained medical personal and quality medicines.
