Balangao people

Balangao is a term that refers to both the barangay in the Natonin, Mountain Province, Philippines as well as the tribe that inhabits it.

The Balangao tribe, focuses primarily on farming; which is performed either in rice terraces or from lands that were cleared by fire. At the present, many of the younger generation of the tribe have gained education and are exposed to modernization thus changing the once traditional society of the tribe. The farangao language is used by the Balangao tribe and is confined to the tribe and other nearby tribes who have their own languages related to the farangao dialect. These dialect most heard in Natonin Mountain Province.
