- Bao'an County was the predecessor of the modern city of Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.
Bao'an District (Chinese: 宝安区; pinyin: Bǎo'ān Qū) is one of the seven districts comprising Shenzhen, a major economic city in Guangdong, People's Republic of China. It is one of three districts lying outside the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, alongside Longgang. With 5 million people, Bao'an is Shenzhen's largest district.
Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (深圳宝安国际机场) is situated in this district.
Bao'an is an industrial center with many electronics factories.
Bao'an has a notoriously bad security record. Since the turn of the millennium the district has seen a string of high-profile abductions, robberies, and other cases of violent crime.[1]
