Barbentane is a commune of the Bouches-du-Rhône department in southern France.

Barbentane is located at the northernmost point of the Bouches du Rhône department, on the border with the Vaucluse and Gard departments, at the confluence of the Durance and the Rhône.
The Durance flows north of the village and forms the border between the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Vaucluse departments. The town of Avignon is located across the Durance.
The Rhône flows west of the village and forms the border between the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Gard departments.
The village is built on the slopes of the Montagnette hills.
