Equistone Partners Europe Limited was established in 2011 as an independent investment firm following the buyout of Barclays Private Equity (BPE) by its executives.[1][2]
BPE, founded in 1982, was the private equity division of Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of Barclays plc.
Equistone has a team of 33 investment professionals operating in Birmingham, Manchester, Munich, Paris and Zurich, investing as a strategic partner alongside management teams. In each of our markets we look for strategic businesses with the potential to grow in value assisted by our capital and our experience.
Barclays Private Equity was the predecessor of Equistone until the firm's spinout from
Barclays Capital in 2011
They have a focus on change of ownership deals and aim to invest between €25m and €125m of equity in businesses with enterprise values of between €50m and €300m.
