Baroness Tautphoeus
Baroness Jemima von Tautphoeus (née Montgomery) (October 23, 1807 – November 12, 1893) was an English novelist who wrote several stories dealing with Bavarian life, manners and history of which the first, The Initials (1850), is perhaps the best. Others were Cyrilla (1883), Quits (1857), and At Odds (1863).
The daughter of an Irish or Welsh gentleman, she was born in County Donegal, Ireland. She married the Baron Tautphoeus of Marquartstein (1805-1885), chamberlain at the court of Bavaria. There she passed most of the rest of her life.
