Barrie South GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Barrie, Ontario in Canada. It is the northern terminus of the Barrie line train service. It began operating on December 17, 2007,[1] with the first morning train leaving the station at 05:43 that day.[2] Construction for the station began in June 2007.[3]
The station's opening restored GO train service to Barrie, which had been eliminated in the 1990s. Barrie Transit buses provide public transit access to the rest of the city. As of January 2012, the station is used by about 700 riders per day,[4] up from 350 at the time of its opening.[5]
The station is served by five trains heading southbound to Toronto in the morning, and five trains heading northbound in the afternoon/evening. No train service is provided on weekends or holidays.
