[edit] History
Before the 1999-00 season the team played in LegADue, under the name Serapide Pozzuoli;[1] later the team headquarters was moved to Naples by its owner Lubrano, who then sold the society to Mario Maione. In the 2000-01 season, the club was promoted to the Lega Basket. Basket Napoli took part in the ULEB Cup in the 2004-05 season and won the Italian Cup in 2006.
In September 2008, Basket Napoli was excluded from the Lega Basket championship due to financial problems, together with Orlandina Basket.[2] After this decision, the team re-started and began play in regional leagues.
