Bassam El Shammaa (born 16 August 1962 in Alexandria, Egypt) is an author and lecturer on Egyptian history. He is the developer of the "Second Sphinx" theory.[citation needed] He has lectured through Europe and recently completed a tour of lectures in the United States.
He graduated from Victory College in Alexandria, studied ancient Egyptian Pharaonic, greco-Roman, Islamic and modern history at the Faculty of Tourism, Helwan University.
