Bay Ridge Avenue is a station on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of Bay Ridge Avenue and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. The station serves the northern part of the Bay Ridge neighborhood, with a part-time exit from the southbound platform at 68th Street.

This station was overhauled in the late 1970s. MTA did fix the station's structure and the overall appearance. It replaces the original wall tiles, old signs, and incandescent lighting to the 70's modern look wall tiles, signs and fluorescent lights. It also has fixed staircases and platform edges. The station was struck by a tornado during the early morning hours of August 8, 2007.

North of this station the subway is carried in the lower deck of a bridge (4th Avenue) over the LIRR Bay Ridge branch cut, and here it can be seen that the bridge has four trackways of which only the western two are used. The tunnel leading up to each side of the bridge was built only for the existing two tracks.
