Bayport is the city used as the setting in the famous Hardy Boys novels. In the books it is located on Barmet Bay, a horseshoe-shaped inlet three miles from the Atlantic Ocean. It is the residence of The Hardy family and The Morton Family.

The relation to Bayport, New York

It is said that the Hardy Boys residence and the setting for the novels is set in the real Bayport, New York, because there are a number of similarities. In one book they mention the Bayport train station which had been still operating on Long Island at the time it was written.[1] [unreliable source?] In the 1977 Hardy Boys TV series, the license plates and a statement by Fenton Hardy imply that Bayport is in Massachusetts. So too, their name tags in the Mystery of the Hollywood Phantom. However, in the Undercover Brothers books, it is stated occasionally in Suspect Profiles that Bayport is in New Jersey.
