The BeanCast Marketing Podcast is a production of North Carolina-based Cool Beans Productions, a division of marketing consultancy, The Cool Beans Group. The show is a weekly round-table discussion podcast that gathers advertising and marketing thought leaders to discuss industry issues and current events.

The show is hosted by Bob Knorpp who explained to Ad Age "I figure, you can tell people what you can do, or you can show them.".[1] Bob Knorpp also hosts The Ad Age Outlook podcast since August 2010.[2]

The first episode of The Beancast was recorded on April 13, 2008 and posted April 14, 2008. On May 26, 2009 they began releasing outtake episodes. A fun feature of the show is the drunk dial line, which Bob Knorpp encourages listeners to call when they've had a few too many. Calls to this line were included in the 2010 Year End Special #2.

[edit] Significant Shows

Auto Crisis: During the height of the US auto crisis (Effects of the 2008-2009 automotive industry crisis on the United States) in November 2008, the show hosted the social media leads of both GM (Christopher Barger) and Ford (Scott Monty) to discuss managing crisis communications. The show included a frank discussion of the "private jet" fiasco that occurred during the congressional hearings.[4]

First Outtakes Show: The first outtakes episode was released as an exclusive to blog subscribers on December 14, 2009 and then to general release on December 28, 2009. The episode was atypical of the normal show which maintains a strict "clean" tag on iTunes. The outtakes program instead contained unedited materials and some language that might be deemed offensive by some. This is clearly noted in the introduction to the episode.[5]

[edit] Reviews

The Beancast's listing on iTunes [6] contains a large number of glowing reviews of the podcast.
