Belgian–Kosovan relations are foreign relations between Belgium and the Republic of Kosovo. Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia on 17 February 2008 and Belgium recognised it on 24 February 2008.[1] Belgium has a Liaison Office in Pristina.[2]

Belgium participated in the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, which resulted in a UN administration of Kosovo and then to eventual independence. Belgium currently has 205 troops serving in Kosovo as peacekeepers in the NATO led Kosovo Force.[3]

Kosovo is the subject of a territorial dispute between the Republic of Serbia and the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo. The latter declared independence on 17 February 2008, but Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own sovereign territory. Kosovo's independence has been recognised by 99 out of 193 United Nations member states.
