Ben Chang

Benjamin Chang is an American diplomat, currently serving in the Department of State's Bureau of Public Affairs [1] [2] as Senior Advisor for Strategic Planning and Crisis Communications. Previously, he served for two and a half years at the White House as Deputy Spokesman for the National Security Council [3] [4] [5]. From 2004 to 2008, he was Deputy Spokesman on Richard Grenell's staff at the United States Mission to the United Nations. He was also named one of PAPER Magazine's 64 Most Beautiful People of 2008.[6]

In high school, Chang visited both Central America and the former Soviet Union, where he developed an interest in international relations.[7]

He attended Georgetown University, where he was a graduate of the School of Foreign Service, earning a B.S.F.S..

Chang has served as an FSO in the State Department, with postings in El Salvador, Paris at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, in New York at the United Nations, and in Washington, D.C. working at State for Secretaries Albright and Powell.[7] He currently serves as Deputy Spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House.

After hours, he is a photographer and DJ.[8] As a photographer, Chang specializes in documentary-style backstage photography in both the fashion and music worlds [9]. Chang's favorite building is the United Nations headquarters.[10]

Chang speaks Spanish and French.
