Benny Dayal[1] (Malayalam: ബെന്നി ദയാല്) (born on May 13, 1984)[citation needed] is an Indian singer. He is a member of the band S5 launched by the channel SS Music.[2] Originally from Kerala, he has worked as a playback singer with many noted composers to produce successful soundtracks.

Benny Dayal's parents hail from Kollam district, Kerala.[3] Benny was born and bought up in Abu Dhabi and completed his schooling there and went on to complete his B.Com from Madras Christian College. After his graduation from MCC, he did a diploma in journalism from the same college.[4] He was working as Admin Assistant with RR Donnelley. He quit his job in BPO and decided to dedicate his career to music.[5] Most of the films he sung are for A. R. Rahman in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. He has since worked with several music composers including Harris Jayaraj, Pravin Mani, Yuvan Shankar Raja, James Vasanthan, Joshua Sridhar and Devi Sri Prasad.

He performed at NIT Calicut on March 26, 2009 as part of the cultural festival Ragam 09. At IIT Sarang in 2008, he performed at Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, Tanjore as a part of the cult fest Kuruksastra in the year 2009. He also performed with Stephen Devassy and others at SSN College of Engineering on March 5, 2010 and at Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology on March 21, 2010 as part of a cultural event.[7] He was at Nehru College OF Engineering And Research Centre, Pampady on March 5, 2010 for Bloom. He frenzied the audience at the jam packed Music Academy on March 27, 2010 at Sangarsh 10 – A concert for a cause, organised by Rotaract Club of College of Engineering Guindy.[8] He also performed in the 8th Mile, the technocultural fest of RV College of Engineering on 18 April 2010 at Bangalore.[9] He performed in the Acharya Habba, the culfest of Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore on 9 April 2011.[10] He performed in the Technovanza'12(Technical fest) of VJTI,Mumbai on 5 February 2012. He gave an outstanding performance at Pearl, 2012, the annual culfest of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Hyderabad on Feb 17, 2012.

In the Malayalam film By the people, Benny Dayal performed as an actor along with his 'S5' band partners. All the songs in the movie were sung by 'S5' members for the composer Pravin Mani.
