Bergen Listens

Bergen Listens is a program that is the "child" of Bergen Reads. Several Pascack Valley High School students organized themselves and recorded Frog and Toad are Friends by Arnold Lobel onto CDs. These CDs, along with the books, were distributed utilizing Bergen Reads' extensive network. Funding was provided by Sony, the Weinberg Foundation, and Best Buy.

Bergen Listens "2.0" is in pre-production (Summer 2011).

The gang plans to up the anty on their Bergen Listens project. Now young adults, the teenagers who set out to help establish a higher literacy level in Bergen County Schools have returned, planning to create an audio-book to be distributed as MP3 files. Producer Max Zettler joins creator Sam Liebeskind along with talent, Valerie Cardaci, Hilary Moser, Scott Grapin, Marissa DeMais, and Alex Venino in this refined version of support for community education.
