Berteştii de Jos is a commune located in Brăila County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Berteştii de Jos, Berteştii de Sus, Gura Călmăţui and Spiru Haret. It formerly included Gura Gârluţei and Nicoleşti villages, now depopulated.
